Biodymanic massage listens to your body's reponse to treatment and directs attention to areas of need.

This is a therapeutic type of massage often available within the framework of a ‘talking’ therapy. As a 'client driven' massage it is individualised - tailored to your needs - at that moment.

It was introduced in the UK by Gerda Boyesen, in the 1960s. She was a Scandinavian physiotherapist who went on to develop this massage in response to her experience when treating clients. As this developed she drew upon the teaching of others who offered insights in to how the body responds to life and how to ameliorate these effects. Those she drew upon include Bulow-Hansen, Ola Raknes who also had links with Wilhelm Reich.

Biodynamic massage is useful for numerous issues including :

depression
M.E.
Fibromyalgia

anxiety

feeling out of balance

long term chronic conditions

For each massage session you may/may not need to remove some clothing - this is negotiable, you will not be made to feel uncomfortable at any point. It is often more pleasant to remove clothing for this as clothing can interfere with the massage. The room is warm enough for you to feel comfortable when your body is being treated. You are covered by a sheet and blanket for most of the time unless the arm/back is being worked on. No oils are used. Within the 60 minute session 5 minutes is included for a chat before and also 5/10 minutes at the end to recover and have a glass of water to hydrate your system.
